In-Patient Care Facility
What is Unique About Our Hospice Inpatient Facility?
Our ten bed inpatient care facility, The Joni Fair Hospice House, is the only facility of its kind in Southern Colorado. Each private room is designed to be a home away from home for our patients, their families and loved ones. The house is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and there is always a caring hospice nurse and CNA on hand to help with any need. Most of our patients want to be cared for in their own home, but sometimes staying at home just isn’t possible. When you can’t stay home, we welcome you to ours.
What About Our Hospice Inpatient Care?
The Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care Hospice House is designed to manage acute symptoms and ease the burden that families experience while caring for a loved one with a life threatening illness. Additionally, the unit increases opportunities for patients and families to come together in a home-like setting.
Our Hospice House Staff features a multi-disciplinary team including:
- Registered Nurses
- Certified Nursing Assistants
- Social Workers
Professionally trained volunteers surround the patient and the family with an exceptional level of support and care. Patients receive skilled 24-hour care that focuses on pain and symptom management, helping to assure their quality of life.
A Place of Transition
The ultimate goal of the inpatient unit is to act as a place of transition, to stabilize our patients, and enable them to return home or to a long-term care environment. Round the clock assistance is provided when acute care is needed. Medicare/Medicaid and most private insurances cover this level of care.
